About Me
Welcome! I am M.V. Dhaneeshram, a botanical researcher, nanotechnology enthusiast, and civic development writer based in Salem, Tamil Nadu. My work lives at the intersection of two distinct but deeply connected passions: uncovering the medicinal secrets of the natural world through science, and documenting the rapid industrial and physical growth of the community I call home.
The Scientist: Botany & Nanotechnology
Currently, I am a Ph.D. Research Scholar in the Department of Botany at Periyar University, Salem. My academic journey is driven by a fascination with how nature can provide sustainable solutions to modern medical challenges.
My core research focuses on:
Ethnopharmacology & Phytochemistry: Evaluating traditional medicinal plants through a rigorous scientific lens to isolate powerful bio-active compounds.
Biogenic Nanoparticles: Utilizing eco-friendly, green synthesis methods (using plant extracts like Impatiens chinensis L.) to create metallic nanoparticles with powerful antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticancer properties.
Through my published, peer-reviewed research, I aim to contribute to the future of targeted, sustainable biomedical therapies.
The Advocate: Infrastructure & Community Tracking
When I step out of the lab, my focus shifts to urban planning, regional policy, and open-source mapping. I strongly believe that an informed community is a thriving one. As an advocate for the development of Salem and the broader Tamil Nadu region, I closely track:
Mega infrastructure pipelines, flyover projects, and the expansion of the Tamil Nadu Defence Corridor. Industrial growth, smart city initiatives, and the evolution of local IT/TIDEL parks.
To bring these complex municipal and industrial updates to the public, I manage the digital news platform “The Salem New”. I am also an active contributor to open-source knowledge bases like Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, working to ensure our region’s geographic and developmental data is accurately represented to the world.
