Salem airport is one the six airports in Tamil Nadu but this airport is not operate any scheduled flights for last 8 months. Salem peoples and Salem MP also requested for relaunch flight service from Salem. But still there is no sign to bounce back.
At this moment AAI recently floated a tender for setting up new pilot training school at Salem Airport. And now EKVI AIR has won bids for setting up Flying Training Organisation at Salem Airport.
And Construction of additional parking bays (2 Nos) and allied works at Salem Airport has been awarded to M/s.KGK Engineers Private Limited, Karur. Cost of the work would be 5.71 crore. Soon Salem Airport will get 2 additional parking bays for parking ATR 72 type of aircraft. Hope Salem airport will bounce back!
